Palm Sunday, March 28th
The parade on Palm Sunday was once again led by our favorite "donkey" Scout. (Actually he is a loveable pony) Young and old alike enjoyed the festive beginning to our Palm Sunday worship service.
The 2010 Interfaith Service "Cultivating the Culture of Peace" was held Sunday, January 24th
This annual event, hosted by Augustana Lutheran Church, is
sponsored by: Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, The Interfaith Alliance of NW Oregon, Interfaith Council of Greater Portland and the Inter-Religious Action Network of Washington County. The over 70 people in attendance (of all ages) heard speakers from 8 different faith traditions tell how each is taught to cultivate a culture of peace and how it plays out in daily living. After the candlelight service ended with the traditional singing of "We Shall Overcome" people attended the Peace Fair and interfaith Dialogue and had a time for community including refreshments. Many thanks to Ed Granshaw, Denise Gates and Lynn Dodson for the photos. The music for the soundtrack was provided by Sarah Adams & Friends (pictured above) and our own Isaac Trimble.
Children's Christmas Pageant: December 13th
Always a hit at Augustana, the Children's Christmas Pageant played to a packed church again this year. The little ones in animal costumes in their parent's arms, heavenly choirs of angels, the Holy family and numerous shepherds were woven together by narrators telling the wondrous story of Christ's birth. The audio track for the slide show was recorded during the performance. Our special thanks to Amy Plumb and her team for a most enjoyable evening.
